Discover the Glénan Islands
It’s not the Caribbean, it’s Brittany! And yet it’s easy to be mistaken for the white sand of Les Glénan, the sand that creates these heavenly beaches and translucent waters tinged with brilliant green.
Off Bénodet, the Glénan archipelago can be reached in just 1 hour with the Vedettes de l’Odet! We dock on Île Saint-Nicolas, which is circumnavigated by a 1 km walk along a footpath. Stop off on the beach for a swim in this idyllic setting and, at low tide, extend your walk by reaching the island of Bananec.
Les Glénan is renowned for its sailing school, which has trained some of the world’s greatest sailors. Its 22 islets are also a Natura 2000 site. Its biodiversity is a delight for bird and flower lovers. It’s a preserved area where a unique and protected variety, the Narcisse des Glénan, flourishes.
